Growing Up With A Bipolar Mother

Oftentimes, depression kicks in if you are experiencing the pain of losing a relationship with a loved one. If you have just experienced a break-up, the bright side is that your life will improve in time. Try not to look at past relationships as failures but rather as an opportunity to learn skills that will be helpful for your next relationship. Keep in mind that your value comes from within and not who you are with. So cheer up, the best is yet to come!

The longer Sarah is unwell, the more her mind will play with these thoughts and feelings; spinning them out of proportion. Then her mind may start dredging up all of the other things from her life with Jack that didn’t go as planned. Didn’t get to finish college? Jack’s fault. Miscarriage? Jack’s fault. Work a job that she hates? Jack’s fault.

Express your love for people. Do nice things for the people you love. Tell them that you love them and let them know you are thinking about them. You will make their day better, but you will also feel happy and grateful to know that they are in your life.

When you’re trying to improve your life, write your goals down. Writing goals down makes them concrete. It also gives you something to visualize every day. Your goals should be clear, concise and contain a time frame. Doing this can make your goals a reality sooner, rather than later.

However long it takes you to get over them is how long you should avoid contact with them. Focus on your health and sanity and not what other people say or want.

There are some people who will never understand depression and crazy and we must be careful about who we tell. No matter how much education there is on this disorder, these are still very personal details about yourself and others. The lack of understanding from other people can turn out to be very hurtful for the person who is bipolar.

One of the main things to remember is that depression isn’t just another mental condition mixed in with a whole plethora of other mental illnesses which affect people to a greater of lesser extent.

To get the most out of life avoid procrastination at all costs. Putting something off for the future just means you’ll never get around to doing it. The first step is always the hardest, but once you’ve started doing something important you’ll find it gets easier and easier to keep going.
